POSITION: School Psychologist (200 Days) for the 2024-2025 School Year

JOB DESCRIPTION: Identifies and assesses the learning, development, and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals and groups, as well as, the environmental factors that affect learning and adjustment. Uses assessment data about the student and his/her environment(s) in developing appropriate interventions and programs. Recommends interventions to students to support the teaching process and to maximize learning and adjustment. Provides consultation to parents, teachers, other school personnel, and community agencies to enhance the learning and adjustment of students. Assists in the planning, development, and evaluation of programs to meet identified learning and adjustment needs. Delivers a planned and coordinated program of psychological services. Applies ethics and standards of professional practice in the delivery of school psychological services and observes relevant laws and policies that govern practice. Participates in professional organizations and continually seeks to improve professional knowledge and skill. Communicates effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Completes written reports/evaluations in a manner that is thorough and understood by both professionals and lay persons. Completes assessments and reports within state and district timelines. Participates in, and consults with, SST, RTI, and IEP Team meetings. Remains knowledgeable of current research and practices in school psychology. Follows federal and state laws as well as Bartow County Board of Education policies. Maintains prompt and regular attendance. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission Specialist (S-6) certificate in School Psychology. Minimum of specialist’s (6 year) degree from an accredited college/university in psychology. Training and experience in providing educational evaluations.
SKILLS: Ability and knowledge to effectively work as a Psychologist at any school level. Proficient planning, organizational and communication skills – oral & written
