POSITION TITLE:   Director:  Maintenance and Facilities for the 2024-2025 School Year

                                      

JOB DESCRIPTION:   

Plans, organizes, directs, schedules, and participates in the maintenance and operation of school system facilities following all safety procedures; Ensures quality and responsiveness of maintenance and facility activities;       Plans buildings, grounds, equipment, furniture, and facilities maintenance programs including deferred maintenance, systemic preventive maintenance, and replacement schedules; Supervises the development of maintenance, custodial, utilities, and records retention budgets; Monitors and controls expenditures to assure compliance with budgetary constraints; Assists in facilities’ master planning; Maintains and reports space utilization inventory; Prepares and submits deferred maintenance plans and hazardous substance plans as required; Supervises repairs, maintenance, and construction projects; Prioritizes and schedules maintenance and facility projects; Ensures equipment availability for maintenance, custodial, and facility projects; Ensures inventory at appropriate levels for all maintenance functions; Monitors work progress for maintenance, construction, and operation activities and allocates resources as required; Analyzes work orders to validate/alter preventive maintenance programs; Follows federal and state laws as well as Bartow County Board of Education policies; Maintains prompt and regular attendance. 

 

 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING:  Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry certifications required, Construction Management, Business or other related Maintenance and Facilities/Construction area; Valid Georgia Driver's License; Georgia state construction license preferred; Minimum three (3) years in supervisory role, preferred.  

 

SKILLS:   Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills, and working knowledge of maintenance systems.  

 

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum five (5) years in field preferred; Supervisory experience preferred
