Position:  School Nutrition Cafeteria Manager (189 Days) - Cloverleaf ES, Pine Log ES

Job Description:  Follows preplanned menus with minimal substitutions.  Assures School Nutrition standardized recipes are followed.  Assure enough food is prepared daily so every customer is offered the same choices.  Ensures that foods served meet quality standards for appearance, texture, flavor and temperature.  Lifts and rotates stock (up to 40 lbs) via the FIFO method in all kitchen areas including freezers and refrigerators.  Records food, refrigerator, freezer, hot holder and storage temperatures appropriately.  Utilizes and stores cleaning chemicals correctly.  Meets food handling standards (hand washing, gloves, hairnet, etc.).  Assure equipment and work area is cleaned and stocked prior to end of shift.  Utilizes resources (food, supplies and labor) effectively and efficiently.  Follows all procedures for handling money and maintaining financial records and reports.  Accurately prepares all records and reports required by the School District and submits them to the designated person with the specified time frame.  Operates the School Nutrition program according to established procedures and in compliance with all Federal, state, county and District regulations.  Complies will all Free & Reduced policy requirements.  Assures compliance with food safety programs (HACCP).  Follows all Human Resources procedures and personnel requirements.  Maintains successful relationships with co-workers and across departments within the School District.  Treats confidential information and sensitive situations with discretion.  Attends all manager and in-service meetings.  Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.  Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or principal.

 

Education, Certification or Training:  High school diploma or GED.  Must have a valid Georgia driver's license.  ServSafe Certified within 1 year of employment and successful completion of GaDOE Manager-in-Training program.

 

Skills:  Must have a valid Georgia driver's license and the ability to travel to all district school sites.  Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office.  Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.  Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.  Ability to work independently without supervision.  Must be able to lift/carry fifth (50) occasionally.  Must be able to drive a vehicle, stand on a cement floor for up to 7.5 hours a day, climb a ladder, stoop, bend, lift and have hands in water.  Ability to work in industrial freezer at or below 0 degrees Fahrenheit or extremely hot temperatures - steaming, baking, cooking.  Ability to utilize cleaning chemicals in solutions, aerosol, and powder forms and to work in a noisy environment.

 

Experience:  One year of food service experience required.  Management/supervisory experience preferred.
