JOB TITLE:  Electrician (236 Days)  - Anticipated Opening

 

LOCATION:  Central Office/Multiple Locations

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to):

  • Works independently or as directed on electrical equipment (power and controls), circuits and machinery following applicable codes and appropriate safety procedures;
  • Accurately diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions;
  • Accurately read and follow electrical sketches, drawings. Conduct installation;
  • Maintain all electrical equipment in good working condition;
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on all electrical systems and equipment. Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities as scheduled;
  • Ability to complete wiring as related to electrical systems;
  • Assemble various types of electrical equipment accurately;
  • Ability to use testing equipment and work on low voltage equipment occasionally, preferred;
  • Accurately record all repairs per department procedures;
  • Follow written and oral instructions;
  • Ability to pre-plan daily assignments;
  • Monitor and maintain safe work procedures to include lockout tag out procedures;
  • Receive training for maintaining and repairing new equipment;
  • Keep abreast of changing methods, codes, safety procedures in electrical trade;
  • Ability to work with other trades as required;
  • Maintain good relationship with all school personnel;
  • Work toward improving technician skills and abilities;
  • Recommend alternate solutions to recurring problems;
  • Train school personnel, if required, in proper operating procedures;
  • Responsible for proper maintenance of assigned tools, equipment;
  • Responsible for ensuring that the assigned county vehicle is maintained in a timely manner by others;
  • Participate in recommending solutions to improve department productivity;
  • Assists in completing special projects as required;
  • Maintain valid Georgia driver’s license;
  • Follow safe work practices;
  • Follows federal and state laws as well as Bartow County Board of Education policies;
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERINCE, TRAINING AND/OR SKILLS:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Georgia State Electrical Unrestricted License, preferred;
  • Minimum 5 years successful work experience in facilities maintenance;
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office and maintenance systems.
